Naming your baby can be a confusing and stressful side story to your pregnancy, it’s not like you don’t have enough to worry about what with all the things that you need to organise, buy and prepare. But now you have to come up with a name that it’s going to be with your little one through his/hers whole life.  With that in mind there really are plenty of things to think about before choosing your baby's name like meanings, themes and of course middle names all of which mean different things to different people.

There is no need to make the naming of your child into a chore; it can be a lot of fun so keep it fun.

A few things to think about when picking names are; any personal ideas/preferences your partners ideas, any traditions that your/ your partners family have and the other names in your family.

You can search online for various surveys’s to find out what is popular at the moment, and there are also sites for unique names. There are plenty of books available in book shops that specialize in the meanings of baby names; these can also be found on the web. Some parents much prefer to find an appropriate meaning first and then the name comes after, middle names are useful for this also.

So hopefully the more names you find and the more meanings you’ll discover you will every now and again stubble across one that you not only like the meaning of, but also love the way it sounds because that is the combination that you are looking for.

As soon as you announce your pregnancy, baby names are one the first things people want to discuss with you. This might spark up a few ideas for you so it’s best to welcome other people’s ideas and theories. It's completely a personal choice and one not to be made lightly. It’s you and your partner’s decision, and it’s a tough one…. But have fun making it.
